Things we've done for our community
Smiling Goat Ranch
10 Cadets volunteered their time to go to a Ranch located in Carbondale, Colorado. At the ranch, the cadets began the project of building a trail for horses. The product of their hard work will be a full trail allowing kids with Autism to ride horses. The cadets devoted 8 hours on this day. Smiling Goat Ranch is a Three-Star Independent Horse Boy Practitioner- affiliate of The Horse Boy. There mission: Using horses and small animals like goats, rabbits, and dogs to help people with autism and veterans with PTSD. The ranch does not believe that autism is a problem to be fixed but that it is a viable way of going through life and know many successful adult autists and survivors of PTSD.
Grand junction air show 2015
Cadets traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado to watch and also help the Civil Air Patrol keep the area clean. They were able to watch the U.S Air Force Thunderbirds perform and also stay in a Hangar that night. They were able to meet a fellow Thunderbird whom showed the cadets the F1-16’s flown in the show earlier that day. Other cadets were able to fly Cheif Nunemann’s plane that night.
X-1 Super Car
We received the opportunity to have the US Air Force on campus to show us the X-1 Super car. The Air Force build this car to have the inside of the car replicate an F1-16.
